[Part 1] [Part 2] [Part 3] [Part 4] [Part 5] [Part 6]
The only news concerning Patric Ferguson was issued mid-May by the local news outlet, Action News 5. He has been officially indicted on charges of murder, kidnapping, and tampering with evidence.
I, of course, had to look up “indictment” because the media throws that word around a lot and it sounds serious. It is serious, to be sure, but what does “indictment” mean? After a quick google session, I better understand the term, but I’m not completely understanding Ferguson’s case development.
Basically: indictment – he’s being formally charged and a Grand Jury is investigating those charges.
However, that’s not much different than what’s already been happening, is it? Or did I simply assume that they were investigating so obvious a case? I think perhaps I made an assumption and that’s the subtle difference between “charged with” and “indicted on.”
So okay. In May, Ferguson was indicted on charges of murder, kidnapping, and tampering with evidence.
What bothers me is there’s zero information from February to May and there’s no update since May.
When will trial be held? How wide-spread will the announcement be? As this isn’t a high-profile case, where can I follow this story real-time? This waiting game sucks.
I just read this whole thing in one go. Fascinating stuff. Sorry for the blase-ness of the phrasing, but there’s no other way to say it.
